Printed Publications

The Navy Records Society regularly produces volumes of all kinds of records relating to naval history and the history of the Royal Navy from the fourteenth century until the Second World War. So far, it has published more than 150 on an almost annual basis.  These comprise an invaluable tool for research.

It welcomes proposals for new volumes.

Documents are transcribed, translated where necessary, and indexed. An introduction by an acknowledged expert provides context and a guide to interpretation.

There are four types of volume:

  1. Personal papers
  2. Themed volumes
  3. Naval miscellanies
  4. Special volumes
